Job Description
General Function:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all operations at the Pittsburgh site to ensure on-time delivery and that monthly volume objectives are achieved. The ability to organize data and coordinate team members through cross-functional actions is critical to maximize results. A successful candidate must be able to observe and identify the important details in every situation, and effectively summarize and communicate at all levels across the organization. The incumbent must demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and serve as the primary problem solver as it relates to planning decisions, in a fast-paced, high-growth setting. In the absence of the Director of Supply Chain, this position assumes functional lead responsibilities, and is expected to be able to navigate the direction of current in-process operations outside of their core daily responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
·        Use defined planning tools to create the long range master supply plan for the site in order to support on time and in full service targets.
·        Ensure that detailed asset and shift level schedule is synchronized to the macro, long range supply plan at all times.
·        Evaluate capacity, demand, and material availability to ensure effective supply and demand balance and level loading work centers across the operation.
·        Responsible for KPI monitoring and reporting for schedule stability and conformance as well as work order closure rates.
·        Work effectively with cross-functional partners to clarify requirements and influence timely solutions when constraints exist.
·        Serve as a lead and change agent for cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives that are core to our goals and objectives.
·        Team with Demand Planners on future commercial forecasts and how to best achieve monthly site production volume targets without sacrificing service levels.
·        Incorporate Lean/ Continuous Improvement techniques and philosophies within Supply Chain continuity planning.
·        Lead a team of two direct reports and manage performance in accordance with annual goals and objectives.
·        Additional duties as required or assigned.
Required Abilities:
·        Computer skills should include advanced aptitude in Microsoft office with and emphasis in Excel. Experience in Oracle, JDEdwards is preferred.
·        Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
·        Strong Administrative Skills (organizational and time management)
·        Conflict Management Competencies, Problem solving and cross-functional skills.
·        Excellent verbal and written Communication Skills.
·        Results and detail oriented.
Working Conditions: 
Position is carried out primarily in an office environment. Position is carried out in a factory setting with potential exposure to capsules and tablets containing enzymes and animal-based glandular materials. On occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Education/Skill Level:  
·        BS/BA in Supply Chain, or related discipline required.
·        5+ years of experience in related field including scheduling and/ or master planning.
·        APICS, CPM certification highly desired.
